Coding Cats

Coding Cats is a 5-week program for students aged 15-18 years old, with a fun curriculum based on the world’s most famous block-based coding language - Scratch.  Starting in April, the course will deliver creative coding lessons to 100 students in Phnom Penh, based on the innovative programs from Saturday Kids, Singapore.

This community project is a partnership between Saturday Kids and Raintree, made possible with the generous support of USAID’s Development Innovations. All courses are free of charge for students who are successfully selected from the application. APPLY NOW as class sizes are limited.

What will you learn?

You will learn not only digital literacy and technical skills, but also critical thinking skills through coding. Throughout the course you will:

- Learn key coding concepts
- Design your own animations and games using Scratch
- Develop design-thinking and logical thinking skills
- Improve problem-solving and presentation skills

When will you learn?

You may choose from two class schedules:

Course 1: 5 consecutive Saturdays* (8:30am-11:30am) of class from 27th April-25th May 2019 @ Raintree
Course 2: 5 consecutive Saturdays* (8:30am-11:30am) of class from 1st-29th June 2019 @ Raintree
* Students MUST be available to attend all classes to be invited to the final graduation showcase

How much are course fees?

Coding Cats is free of charge for all students in Phnom Penh who are successfully selected for program.

How do you apply?

Applications are open to students aged 15 to 18 years old with little to no prior coding experience, who are currently studying in Phnom Penh. Applications are selective as we have limited class sizes. Applications are accepted until Friday 5th April 2019 at 5pm.
