Women in Tech Meet up

The first ever Women in Tech Meetup is a 3-hour workshop intended to celebrate women in tech, providing a safe space for women to openly discuss how they have overcome challenges they are facing in the industry, and nurture the Women in Tech community in Cambodia.

This programme is a collaboration between USAID’s Development Innovations (DI) and Raintree.

Rapid user research conducted by Development Innovations (DI) in late 2017 found that the biggest barriers and constraints affecting professional development and career advancement of women in the tech sector were a lack of women role models and mentors, and limited networking opportunities. Based on recent independent research conducted by Raintree about the tech startup landscape in Cambodia, women only form 20% of the startup founders who participated in the research.

Similar to other global markets, diversity in the tech entrepreneurship ecosystem is equally challenging in Cambodia, despite substantial evidence that gender diversity at management level enhances company performance and profitability. Our speakers will discuss skillsets and tools to overcome challenges and improve opportunities for women in tech.
