Building Women’s Place in Cambodia’s Growing Digital Economy

Building Women’s Place in Cambodia’s Growing Digital Economy

Date:
Saturday, 30th April 2026
Time:
1:30pm - 7:30pm
Location:
The Canopy @ Raintree

Technology in Cambodia, specifically Artificial Intelligence (AI), is evolving fast, and with it comes new opportunities for employment and entrepreneurship. Yet women in Cambodia continue to face real gaps in digital skills, tech access, and leadership that make it harder to get ahead of this shift.

GIZ Cambodia’s dialogue @ Raintree, bringing together policymakers, researchers, and community voices to explore solutions from a gender-inclusive perspective, bridging high-level policy with real community impact. Through this dialogue, we are making sure they are not just aware but empowered to contribute and benefit from the country’s growing digital economy.

The event brought together representatives from the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, the Ministry of Women's Affairs of Cambodia, the German Embassy Cambodia, Smart Axiata, and Digital Divide Data-Cambodia. The conversation drew on insights from the Gender Responsiveness in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Policies in Cambodia report, and will open up discussion on career pathways and entrepreneurial opportunities in the AI era.

We believe women shouldn't just adapt to the digital world. They should lead it.
